Terms of Service

Effective date: 15 February 2026

These terms govern your use of Shotpad ("the app", "the service"), a film production planning app for iPad and Mac, operated by Ben Saffer ("we", "us", "our"). By using Shotpad, you agree to these terms.

1. Beta Disclaimer

Shotpad is currently in beta. The service is provided as-is during the beta period. This means:

  • Features may change, break, or be removed without notice.
  • Data loss is possible, though we take reasonable steps to prevent it.
  • There are no uptime guarantees.
  • The beta is free. Paid plans will be introduced at launch, and you will be notified in advance.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any activity that occurs under it.
  • One account per person. Do not share your credentials with others.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Shotpad for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Attempt to access other users' data, projects, or accounts without authorisation.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app or its services.
  • Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.

4. Your Content

You own everything you create in Shotpad. Your projects, images, schedules, shot lists, and all other content belong to you. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

We only access your content as necessary to provide the service — for example, to sync your projects across devices, store your images, or share projects with collaborators you invite.

5. Service Modifications

During the beta period, we may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes where possible. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

6. Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you do, all your cloud data (account information, projects, and images) will be permanently deleted.
  • We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. We will notify you and provide an opportunity to export your data before permanent deletion, unless the violation is severe.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shotpad and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or projects during the beta period.
  • Service interruptions or downtime.
  • Any indirect damages arising from your use of the service.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" during the beta period, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Shotpad shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
