Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 February 2026

Shotpad ("we", "us", "our") is a film production planning app for iPad and Mac. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Account information — your email address and display name, managed through Firebase Authentication.
  • Project data — the projects you create, including scenes, shots, schedules, and metadata, stored in Google Cloud Firestore.
  • Images — reference images, storyboards, moodboards, and other media you upload, stored in Firebase Storage.

2. Information We Don't Collect

  • We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
  • We do not use tracking cookies.
  • We do not share your data with third parties.
  • We do not serve advertising or share data with advertisers.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase) in the europe-west2 region (London, UK). All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Firebase provides encryption at rest for stored data.

4. Anonymized Data for Service Improvement

We may use anonymized project metadata — such as project structure, layout patterns, and scheduling patterns — to improve our services, including AI-powered features. This data never includes images, names, or any identifying content.

This is opt-in only. We never collect this data unless you explicitly enable it in Settings. You can disable it at any time, and any previously collected anonymized data will be deleted.

5. Data Retention

  • Your data is kept for as long as your account is active.
  • If you request account deletion, all cloud data (account information, projects, and images) is permanently deleted.
  • Local data stored on your device remains on your device and is not affected by account deletion. You can delete it by removing the app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — use the in-app export features to download your projects, images, and schedules at any time.
  • Delete your data — delete your account and all associated cloud data from within the app.
  • Opt out — disable anonymized metadata collection at any time in Settings.

For users covered by the GDPR, you also have the right to:

  • Rectification — correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Restriction of processing — request that we limit how we use your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at shotpadapp@gmail.com.

7. Children's Privacy

Shotpad is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Shotpad after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or your data, contact us at shotpadapp@gmail.com.
